2006 was a prolific year for me. I found a new poetic voice and in doing so, produced a manuscript which turned into a book.
The following is a preview of my first book, The Swallow Project: A Guide to Consuming Obsession, released August 2006. I’ve included a few poems from each chapter.

I.Monique,
I’m intrigued by the line you posted for this week’s Poetry Thursday project. Unfortunately, I’m off and running with a different prompt already, but I would love to read the poem this came from. Can you tell me where I can find it?
Peace,
-Sasha
Sasha, the line is from a poem out of The Swallow Project called, “A Pantoum for Your Ass.”
It is now posted under Poetry Thursday: Line Poem.
Thank you for stopping by and good luck with your poem. I’m still trying to narrow down my lines.
Congrats on your book! I took your line for Poetry Thursday (great line!) I’ll have to check out the original.
YAY!!! I’m very excited to read your poem. It’s a very interesting concept to see how people take the same words, thoughts, and ideas and manipulate them, coerce them into something totally different. It’s exciting to me.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Congrats on the published book.
